Which are the Six Baltic Sea Wonders? Project AGORA 2.0 starts contest

The project „AGORA 2.0 – Heritage Tourism for Increased Baltic Sea Region Identity“ started a search for „The Six Baltic Sea Wonders“. The aim is to make the Baltic Sea Region - as one destination - more visible, even outside its formal borders. As a result of the online contest, the most popular sites and characteristics shall be identified to promote the rich natural and cultural heritage of the region. Latvian Fund for Nature is an official partner in the project AGORA 2.0.

DEMO FARM final seminar

Invitation to international seminar for closing of Demo Farm project 15-16 September 2011 in Valmiera, Latvia. The purpose of this seminar is to share the experience gained in the project “Demo Farm - Development of Latvian-Estonian network for demonstration of environmentally friendly farming practices”.

LIFE+ Nature & Biodiversity project

Latvian Fund for Nature has started to participate in the implementation of the project “Innovative approaches for marine biodiversity monitoring and assessment of conservation status of nature values in the Baltic Sea” (Project acronym -MARMONI).

NCM Office in Latvia project `Nature conservation NGOs in Nordic-Baltic region - working together` has come to an end

Latvian Fund for Nature together with Swedish Botanical Society, Estonian Fund for Nature and `Sustainable Development Initiatives – DVI` from Lithuania implemented the project „Nature conservation NGOs in Nordic-Baltic region working together” financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers` Office in Latvia.

For participation in the project "DEMO FARM" 20 farms will continue to compete

Latvian Fund for Nature and the "Latvian Rural Advisory and Training Centre” announces 20 farms, which have passed the first selection round and will compete for the participation of Latvian and Estonian border demonstration farm network of project DEMO FARM or "Environmentally-friendly agriculture demonstration farm network of Latvian and Estonia".

Boosting Baltic biodiversity

Endangered European species have received a beneficial boost from LIFE project funding for Latvian flood plain management works that resulted in improvements to the favourable conservation status of important EU wildlife and habitats.
